US Citizenship Test Prep is run by ChowChow Labs (Ontario, Canada). This policy explains how we handle your personal information, in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Questions: chowchowbuy@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, to create your account and send sign-in codes. If you continue with Google or Apple, we receive your email address (or Apple’s private relay address, if you chose to hide yours) and the provider’s account ID, nothing else.
- Your study data: mock exam answers, scores, times, flagged questions and per-question stats.
- Your settings: reminder preferences. Light or dark mode is kept in a cookie on your device.
- Subscription status: whether you have Premium, when it renews or ends, and Paddle’s customer and subscription IDs. We never see or store your card or PayPal details.
- Basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser and error messages), kept briefly by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
Only to run the site: sign you in, save your progress across devices, show your stats, give Premium to subscribers, answer support emails and keep the site secure. We don’t sell your information.
Who helps us run the site
- Supabase stores accounts and study data (servers in Canada).
- Cloudflare hosts the website.
- Resend sends sign-in emails.
- Google and Apple sign you in if you choose “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple”, under their own privacy policies.
- Google AdSense shows ads to visitors without Premium.
- Paddle processes payments as Merchant of Record and handles receipts, taxes and refunds under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Some of these providers may process data outside Canada, such as in the United States.
Cookies, storage and ads
We use cookies to keep you signed in and remember light or dark mode, and your browser’s storage to save an exam in progress.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or track you across other sites. It tells us which pages are visited, roughly from where, and on what kind of device.
Free pages show ads. When ads come from Google AdSense, Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized ads at Google Ad Settings (opens in a new tab) and learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services (opens in a new tab). Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first. Premium members see no ads.
Visit statistics
To see which pages help people, we count visits with our own statistics service, run on Cloudflare. It records the page address (never anything you type), the site that sent you, your approximate country and region, your browser and device type, time on the page and a few actions, such as starting or finishing something. A random ID kept in this browser tells new and returning visits apart on this site only; it isn’t linked to your account or shared with our other sites. We never store your IP address. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, or you’re in Quebec, no ID is kept. Records are deleted after 13 months. Turn off visit statistics on this site (turn them back on).
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. Delete your exam history or your whole account any time in Settings; deleting your account removes this site’s data from our database right away. If you also use one of our other sites with the same email, your email stays on file for that site until you delete your account there too. Paddle keeps payment records as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing chowchowbuy@gmail.com. If you live in a U.S. state with its own privacy law, such as California, you have these rights too, and we never sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the ads described above. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, where we are based.
Young users
If you’re under 16, please use the site with a parent or guardian’s permission.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and email you about important changes.
